Caerlaverock Castle is located in Dumfries & Galloway Scotland, UK. The above photograph was taken during the Edwardian times and shows the castle ruins and moat. The castle used to belong to the Maxwell family and was involved in a few battles with the English army, including the a siege by king Edward 1st during the 1300's during which a small group of men in the castle managed for a while to keep the English army at bay |
